Questions worth asking before you buy
Including the ones that make us look worse. If coverage is the wrong tool for your record, we would rather you knew now.
Evidentiary value
Does paid coverage count as evidence?
What matters to an officer is whether the material is about you, appears in a qualifying publication, and relates to your work in the field — with the title, date and author shown. Editorial independence is judged from the piece itself, not from how it was commissioned. That said, coverage carries far more weight when it corroborates a record that already exists, so we ask for your documentation before we write anything.
Will an officer see that this was arranged?
We do not conceal anything, and we do not advise anyone to. The pieces are genuine interviews written by journalists and published on editorial merit. What we will not do is write claims your documentation cannot support — that is what makes coverage counterproductive.
Is media coverage enough on its own?
No. A petition resting on media alone is a weak petition. Coverage is best used to close a specific gap — usually published material about you, or corroboration of original contributions — while the rest of the record does its own work.
Process and control
Do I see the article before it is published?
Always. You read the full draft, request factual corrections, and give written approval before anything reaches an editor. You can decline publication entirely — the placement is not published against your wishes.
How long does it take?
Between 18 and 42 days depending on the outlet, from payment to a live URL. Each listing shows its own lead time. Bundles are usually sequenced over several months so the coverage reads as sustained attention rather than a single campaign.
What if the outlet declines the piece?
We place it with an outlet of equal or higher tier in the same category, or refund that placement in full. You choose which.
Working with your attorney
Does my attorney need an account?
No — and they cannot be given one. Attorneys browse the full catalogue at /lawyers with no sign-in, shortlist what fits your record, annotate why, and send you a code. They never handle payment and take no fee through Elefent.
Can I share my placements with my attorney?
Yes. Every order page collects the live URLs, publication dates and the criteria mapping in a form you can send or print for the exhibit index.
I received a code. What do I do?
Enter it at the redeem page. You will sign in with an emailed link — no password — and the shortlist appears in your dashboard with your attorney's notes on each outlet.
Payment
Is this a subscription?
No. Every placement is a one-time payment. There are no retainers and no recurring charges.
How does the volume discount work?
It is based on how many placements are in your shortlist: 10% from two, 20% from three, 30% from five. It is applied automatically at checkout and recalculated server-side, so the price you see is the price charged.
Can I get a refund?
Before the interview, yes, in full. After drafting has begun we refund the placement less the drafting cost if we cannot place the piece. If you decline publication of a piece you approved the brief for, the drafting work is not refundable.
